2007 Marco Felluga Pinot Grigio

Yep.  I'm ready.  Put me on a plane right now and get me back to Italy.  As with last week's sparkling wines, the Marco Felluga Pinot Grigio pretty much transported me directly back to the canals of Venice.  I can taste the warm and garlicky linguine and clams from that little ristorante around the corner, hear the flapping of the pigeons' wings in Piazza San Marco, and smell the briny water lapping against the buildings as I wander along the city's tiny and labyrinth-like streets.

Golden yellow in color with a great aroma of golden apples, white peaches and slate, this wine is  fruity on the palate, especially when it has had time to open a bit, and the finish is long and luxurious.  There's a lot of nice mineral with just enough acid to balance it all out.  All in all, a very pleasant wine that stands on its own or works perfectly with, say, linguine and clams or roast chicken.

Give it a try...  at $16.99/bottle from wine.com, it's the cheapest trip to Venezia you'll ever take... 3.5 corks popped here!

Cheers!

Laurel
